Guwahati: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured their first victory of the IPL 2025 season with a commanding 8-wicket triumph over Rajasthan Royals.

Despite losing their opening match to RCB, KKR made a strong comeback in their second fixture.

Chasing a target of 152, opener Quinton de Kock led the charge with a scintillating unbeaten 97 off 61 balls, smashing 9 fours and 4 sixes.

He received solid support from Raghuvamshi, who remained unbeaten on 22, ensuring a comfortable win for KKR.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals managed only 151/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

While Dhruv Jurel (33), Yashasvi Jaiswal (29), and Riyan Parag (25) showed some resistance, the middle order crumbled under pressure. Jofra Archer’s late cameo (16) helped RR cross the 150-run mark.

KKR’s bowling unit delivered a clinical performance, restricting Rajasthan effectively.

Varun Chakravarthy, Moeen Ali, Vaibhav Arora, and Harshit Rana picked up two wickets each, while Spencer Johnson claimed one.

This victory signals Kolkata’s resurgence under new leadership, with de Kock’s explosive batting and the disciplined bowling attack reinforcing KKR’s credentials as strong title contenders.
