Gwalior: In the 1st T20I of the three-match series, Bangladesh vs India ended with a dominating performance by India, securing a seven-wicket win.
The match, held at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, saw Bangladesh being bowled out for 127 runs.
After being put to bat, Bangladesh faced early trouble at 14/2 as Arshdeep Singh took two quick wickets.
He finished with impressive figures of 3/14, dismissing both openers Litton Das and Parvez Hossain Emon cheaply.
Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 27 runs, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 35 off 32 balls.
However, the Indian bowlers, including Varun Chakravarthy (3/31), Mayank Yadav (1/21), and Washington Sundar (1/12), kept things tight.
Hardik Pandya added to the pressure by picking up a wicket in the latter stages, ensuring Bangladesh couldn’t build partnerships.
Chasing 128, India’s Hardik Pandya shone with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 39 off just 16 balls.
Although Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav made 29 runs each before being dismissed, India comfortably chased down the target in 18.5 overs.
The Bangladesh vs India match marked a strong start for India, leading the series 1-0.
