New Delhi: The Indian cricket team head BCCI is reportedly set to appoint a new bowling coach. According to a prominent sports website, former South African bowler Morne Morkel has been selected for the role.

His appointment is expected to be officially announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) soon.

The decision to appoint Morkel was reportedly influenced by the recommendation of newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Morne Morkel is scheduled to take on his new responsibilities starting from September 1 2024. Morkel brings with him significant coaching experience, having previously served as a coach for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and for the Pakistan cricket team.

This new role with Team India marks an important step in his coaching career as India stands as one of the biggest cricket board in the World cricket arena.
