Beirut: An Israeli airstrike on the southern outskirts of Beirut on Tuesday killed a Hezbollah commander, Ibrahim Qubaisi.

He was a key figure in the group’s rocket division, according to two security sources from Lebanon.

This attack, which resulted in six deaths, marked another setback for Hezbollah including Hezbollah commander.

It is a group backed by Iran, as tensions of a full-scale war in the Middle East continued to rise.

The airstrike was the second day of Israeli attacks on Hezbollah-controlled areas in the Lebanese capital.

It was following a wave of strikes on targets in Lebanon.

After nearly a year of conflict with Hamas on its southern border, Israel is now shifting its attention to the northern front.

It is the place where Hezbollah launched rockets in support of Hamas.

Lebanon’s health ministry reported that the initial toll from the airstrike was six dead and 15 injured. Earlier on Monday.

Israeli strikes in Lebanon had killed over 500 people, according to Lebanese authorities.

The attack hit a building in the Ghobeiry neighborhood, causing significant damage, particularly to the top floor of a five-story building.

Israeli military officials stated that attacks on Hezbollah would intensify.

Israel’s Military Chief of General Staff, Herzi Halevi, emphasized that the current situation called for ongoing, vigorous action on all fronts.

The escalating violence has led to growing concerns that the nearly year-long conflict could escalate into a broader regional war, further destabilizing the Middle East.

Already, the war between Israel and Hezbollah’s ally, Hamas, is raging in Gaza, leading to fears of further destruction.

In Lebanon, more than 558 people, including 50 children and 94 women, have been killed in the airstrikes, with an additional 1,835 wounded.

Many thousands have fled to safer areas to escape the devastation.

The people of Lebanon, still haunted by the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, are experiencing widespread panic and uncertainty.

“We are waiting for victory, God willing. As long as Israel is our neighbor, we cannot sleep peacefully,” said Beirut resident Hassan Omar.

Afif Ibrahim, a taxi driver from southern Lebanon, expressed defiance, saying, “Israel wants us to bow down.

But we only kneel before God during our prayers. We submit to no one but God.”
