Mumbai: The BCCI men’s selection committee has announced the squads for the first round of the 2024-25 Duleep Trophy, a key domestic red-ball cricket tournament in India.

The competition, starting on September 5, 2024, will be held in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and Bengaluru.

Notable Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin are not included in the teams, nor is Rinku Singh.

The tournament features four teams led by captains Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer.

Prominent players participating include KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav, among others.

Players selected for India’s home Test series against Bangladesh will be replaced in the Duleep Trophy.

The squads for the four teams comprise a mix of experienced players and emerging talent, setting the stage for high-level competition.
