Mumbai: Team India’s Chief Selector, Ajit Agarkar, announced that they decided to appoint a captain who is always available to play cricket. He mentioned that while Hardik Pandya is a crucial player for the team, his fitness issues have become challenging.
Due to this, Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the T20 team captain. Agarkar expressed confidence that Suryakumar Yadav has all the qualifications to be a captain and will lead the team from the front.
India’s tour of Sri Lanka is set to begin on the 27th of this month with the first T20 match at Pallekele. India will play three T20 matches against Sri Lanka, followed by a series of three ODI matches.
Rohit Sharma will serve as the captain for the ODI series, and it has already been announced that Virat Kohli will also play in this series.
