New York: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a stern warning to Iran during his address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday.
He asserted that there is no place in Iran that Israel cannot reach, emphasizing Israel’s commitment to ensuring its security and stability in the region.
During his speech, Netanyahu addressed the international community and stated, We will continue to act against Iran’s aggression and its nuclear aspirations.
Let it be clear: there is no place in Iran that Israel cannot reach. Our resolve and our capabilities are stronger than ever.
Netanyahu’s statement comes amidst growing tensions between Israel and Iran, especially concerning Iran’s nuclear program and its support for militant groups like Hezbollah.
He criticized Iran’s activities in the Middle East, accusing the nation of promoting terrorism and instability in neighboring countries.
The Prime Minister also showcased a map, indicating various Iranian sites that Israel is monitoring closely. “Iran’s nuclear facilities, its missile production centers, and its command centers are all under our watch.
We know where they are, and we know how to neutralize them if the need arises,” Netanyahu said, adding that Israel will not hesitate to take action if its security is threatened.
Israel’s Concerns Over Iran’s Nuclear Program: Netanyahu
Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s long-standing concerns over Iran’s nuclear program, which Tehran claims is for peaceful purposes.
He, however, dismissed these claims as deceptive and reiterated that Iran is inching closer to developing nuclear weapons.
“Iran’s nuclear capabilities pose a direct threat not only to Israel but to the entire world. We cannot allow the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism to possess nuclear weapons,” he warned.
He urged the international community to take a stronger stance against Iran and impose stricter sanctions to halt its nuclear ambitions.
“Sanctions and diplomatic measures are the only way to curb Iran’s dangerous activities. We must act before it’s too late,” Netanyahu stated.
Call for Unity Against Iran:
The Israeli leader also called for unity among Middle Eastern nations to counter Iran’s influence in the region.
He mentioned the growing cooperation between Israel and several Arab countries, which he referred to as a “new dawn” in the Middle East.
“We have forged new alliances that were once unimaginable. The Abraham Accords are just the beginning.
We will continue to expand our partnerships to create a safer and more prosperous region,” he noted.
Netanyahu’s speech at the UNGA comes at a critical time as Iran continues to face widespread protests and international scrutiny over its nuclear activities.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s bold statements are likely to draw reactions from Tehran, potentially escalating tensions further.
Iran’s Reaction:
Following Netanyahu’s address, Iranian officials condemned his remarks, calling them “baseless” and “provocative.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated, “Israel has no right to speak about peace and security when it itself is an occupier and violator of international laws.”
Iran has consistently denied seeking nuclear weapons and claims its nuclear program is strictly for energy purposes.
However, Netanyahu’s assertions are expected to rally international pressure on Iran to prove its nuclear intentions.
